University of Tübingen, Germany

Diego is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Tübingen, working under Kaufmann’s supervision. He earned his medical degree in Montevideo/Uruguay, and in 2021 the Ph.D. in neurosciences at Aix-Marseille University. His research combines insights from neuroimaging and neuropsychiatry to understand how individual differences in brain resilience and vulnerability to life stressors affect brain networks, and how this relates to neuropsychiatric disorders in the lifespan. His research combines data from genetic, neuroimaging, computational neuroscience, and behavioural methods using tools from network neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, and epidemiology, with the main interest of identifying protective and risk factors of neuropsychiatric diseases in critical periods of brain changes like in childhood development, which would affect brain health during aging.
