After finishing my doctoral degree in physics and working as a software developer in the industry for several years, I am currently a Senior Data Scientist and AI Researcher in the Kaufmann Lab at University of Tübingen. In my research, I focus on deep learning with MRI brain scans with the aim to develop models to explore different complex patterns in these high-dimensional data. I am especially interested, to investigate the conditions under which deep learning models predict clinical variables reliably and robustly and how to quantify the trustworthiness of the predictions, using explainable AI methods.
